Black Eyed Children by David Weatherly

Black Eyed Kids, like the Slender Man (or the Scungilli Man, if you will, and I think you will) are a fairly recent phenomenon in the world of cryptids and high strangeness. Not much is known about the phenomenon but they seem to share a lot in common with the mythos surrounding the Men In Black.

As reported by numerous people since the 1990’s, the phenomenon of Black Eyed Children typically manifests as visitations at odd hours, usually late night, by young children, dressed shabbily, asking to enter your home. Though, not always first, they are most commonly reported as having eyes that are entirely black, like a member of some nu-metal band. Unlike the Men in Black, however, sightings of BEK’s don’t usually coincide with other phenomena. Where MiBs are typically found following cryptid or UFO sightings, BEK’s manifest independently of any other phenomena. People who have been in close proximity to them report an irresistible urge to talk to them, where anyone else might feel so inclined to shut the door on them. They also make subjects of their visitation sick and cause bloody noses and other anomalous reactions.

Being a fairly rare phenomenon, they’re not as well-researched as their cousins, The Men In Black, so the BEK’s phenomenon is a particularly mysterious one. Their motives remain largely unknown. To date, they to do nothing more than go door to door, scaring people.
