Further Reading For Jerry Brudos

Lust Killer, Updated Edition by Ann Rule

Info

Jerry Brudos was a necrophile, serial killer, and shoe aficionado from Oregon who between the years 1968 and 1968 amassed a respectable collection of women’s shoes, which he used to beat off, and racked up no fewer than four murders of women in that time.

Brudos would either lure his victims to his garage or would abduct them at gunpoint, transfer the bodies to his garage and then . His first victim, Linda Slawson met a characteristically terrible end and while disposing of her body, Brudos sawed off her foot and used it to model stolen women’s shoes in his photography. All of his victims were raped and then strangled or bludgeoned. Brudos would then keep the bodies in his locked garage away from his family where he would have sex with the bodies until he couldn’t stand to have them around anymore.

After his arrest and incarceration, Brudos amassed a huge collection of women’s shoe catalogs which he claimed was his version of pornography. He also made many, many attempts to appeal his sentence and after a time, the Oregon state parole board informed him that he would never, ever be released. Brudos only ever felt bad that he got caught. The Baltimore Foot Stomper from the John Waters movie, Polyester, is a parody of Brudos.
