In what is clearly a filler story meant to get the boys to land on their 500th episode with a new big-deal series, they cover an obscure killer who’s a real shocker. Nannie (not Minnie) Doss was a murderer who bore a bunch of names like The Giggling Granny, The Lonely Hearts Killer, and The Black Widow due to her marrying and then killing four men, two of her children, her mother, two grandchildren, her sisters, and her mother-inlaw. This lady was a killing machine that took no shit. She also suffered a head injury during childhood that you see with a lot of violent killers, which explains quite a bit.
She killed out of spite. She killed for revenge. Her main weapon was poison and she avoided suspicion for as long as she did due to a sweet disposition. They didn’t call her The Giggling Granny for nothing. But like many black widow killers, you can only waste so many people close to you before people start asking questions and by the time of her fourth husband’s death, the cops came calling and worked a confession out of her. Once she confessed to the four dead husbands it just kept coming until she’d horrified cops with confessions to the murder of family members and children.
