Chupacabra Road Trip: In Search of the Elusive Beast by Nick Redfern

Info

North American cryptid enthusiasts like to claim the Chupacabra as their own, a strange animal that may or may not be real and typically spotted in the South Western parts o America and parts of Mexico. But don’t buy it. Our little goat sucking friend was first sighted in Puerto Rico, biting livestock and drinking its blood until the prey is completely exsanguinated.

We’ve all see the depictions of our spiny friend by this point but just in case you’ve spent the last fifty years living on another planet, which is entirely possible in the Last Podcast world, here’s how it tends to be described: It is reptilian, with greenish or gray skin. It stands 3 or 4 feet tall with either a pronounced spinal ridge or what appear to spines or quills like a porcupine. Its face is said to be narrow, with deep set eyes and some sort of proboscis with two or three prongs or teeth presumed to be used to puncture the skin of its prey. Witnesses have described its movement similar to a kangaroo. It is somewhat similar to recorded sightings and descriptions of The Jersey Devil.

It has been spotted as far south on North America as Chile and as far north as Maine. Buzz kill skeptics, of course, have to spoil the fun and suggest that what witnesses are reporting are dogs suffering from mange or are a species of hairless dog.
