UFOs for the 21st Century Mind: A Fresh Guide to an Ancient Mystery by Richard M. Dolan

Info

In November of 1975, Travis Walton was working on a logging crew in Arizona when he claims to have been abducted by aliens aboard a UFO. Following the work day, Walton and friends from the crew drove out to what they thought may have been a brush or small forest fire only to find a brightly lit hovering craft. Walton, leaving the truck to approach the object was said to have been knocked to the ground by a beam of light from the UFO. Panicked and thinking that he had been killed, his friends took off in their truck, leaving Walton to be taken up into the craft.

Several days later, Walton was found walking in a daze in a nearby town with no memory of what had happened to him following the moment he was struck by the beam. After some hypnotic regression, Walton claimed that he had been experimented on while aboard the UFO and saw several beings consistent with common UFO encounters. He was shown a star map and instruments by a tall alien wearing a clear bubble on their head.

He collected his story in the book Fire In The Sky, which was later adapted into an absolutely terrifying feature film of the same name. Buzzkill skeptics, of course, consider it a hoax and even many believers in the UFOlogy scene think that Walton made the whole thing up.
